活出中国精神

回首往昔，当我知道即将动身前往中国时，尽管对这个未知国家的生活、文化、机遇有着一些忧虑，但浓厚的喜悦与期待之情仍令我感到无比激动。
我来自巴基斯坦港口城市卡拉奇，大约两年前，也就是2019年的秋天，我来到了这片充满着科技奇迹的土地。这里有着灿烂的社会文化，秀丽的自然风光，悠久而迷人的历史，充满活力而稳定的政治。在这里，我目睹了高效的政治领导对生活各个方面的影响，包括公正完善的法制、小康幸福的百姓、自发的社会责任感、充分保障的人权、便捷高效的移动支付以及卓有成效的脱贫攻坚。
中国在技术进步上取得的成绩举世瞩目、毋庸置疑，堪称科技奇迹。当我回到祖国，和朋友们聊起来时，我常常将中国的经济比作“二维码”经济。中国在经济、金融事务上的便民、高效，即使是发达国家也不得不敬佩。令人惊奇的是，整个中国庞大的金融系统，竟然是以诚实的品德为基础建立的。我仍然记得第一次在便利店里用支付宝付款的经历。我很惊奇，店主居然没问我是否付过款，所以我天真地问中国朋友是怎么回事。那位中国朋友的回答令我很惊奇，他说：“他为什么要认为你没有付钱呢？”在中国，整个支付系统都是“自我驱动”的；民众对诚信精神的恪守，对社会的责任感，才是整个金融支付系统的原动力。
我们来到中国几个月后，不幸的事情发生了，新冠肺炎疫情为世界带来了前所未有的挑战。一个国家的强大与治理能力只有在灾难面前才能真正展现。我作为一名抗击疫情的志愿者，切身感受到了中国的强大、坚韧、团结，感受到了人们对政府的信任，感受到了人们的遵纪守法。正是由于这些美德的存在，14亿多中国人才能团结起来，在世界范围内率先取得抗疫的胜利，为世界各国树立了榜样。

中国不仅对我的个人发展起到了很大作用，也促使我采取更加健康的生活方式。我刚来到中国时，身材处在肥胖的边缘；在这一年的时间里，我恢复了健康的体形，并且成功完成了马拉松比赛，这也是我来到中国的另一大收获。去年秋天，我们几个身体都不算太好的朋友，参加了西安马拉松比赛；我们爬了七公里的山路，登上一千米高的山顶，再从山顶走下来。我永远无法忘记，我们在路上遇到的那些勇敢、坚毅的人们，即使他们身体有所不适，但仍然为了团队、为了这次比赛而咬着牙坚持下来。
在完成这次比赛之后，我感觉我的心灵从所有看不见的枷锁中解放了出来；从那时起，我的徒步旅行、跑步、骑自行车和健身的激情被点燃了。在这种热情的驱使下，我前往秦岭远足、登山，参观了秦岭的诸多风景名胜；此外，我还参加了许多线上与线下的马拉松比赛，又获得了四个马拉松比赛的奖牌，这些奖牌都被我挂在家里，装饰着我的屋子。每当我看到这些奖牌，永不停歇的动力与热情便充斥着我的内心。
在中国的这些经历不仅对我起到了莫大的帮助，也使我的家人，尤其是自己那蹒跚学步的孩子受益匪浅。尽管有一些语言障碍，但他还是深受幼儿园老师和邻居们的喜爱。我的孩子和中国的孩子们一起在公园、游乐场、花园玩耍；我能感受到，他将来一定比我更想念中国。
这段美丽的旅程即将告一段落。在人生的这一站，我亲眼见证了中国人民为实现共产主义的伟大理想而世世代代努力奋斗的壮丽史诗，这一理想唤醒了人们心中的美德，促使人们以积极的态度生活，共同为中国梦而奋斗，继而实现以科学技术为标志的、整体国家实力的上升。
最近，习近平主席为北京大学的留学生们写了回信，展现出中国政府对我们留学生的关心，令我十分感动；在习近平主席的鼓励下，我将继续在社交媒体上传递我在中国生活的所见所闻。我还想向我的中国朋友们致以衷心的感谢，你们为中国的繁荣昌盛而团结一致、努力奋斗的精神使我备受鼓舞。最后，作为一个外国留学生，能在这片土地上度过人生中最美好的两年时光，我感到十分开心，我会铭记那些美好的回忆与中国精神，在追梦的路上不忘初心！
Live up to Chinese Spirit

When I knew that I was about to leave for China， I was so excited because of strong joy and high expectation， despite there are some concerns about future life， culture and opportunities of this unknown country．
I came from Karachi， a port city of Pakistan． In the fall of 2019， I arrived at this wonderful land full of scientific and technological miracles． It has a splendid social culture， beautiful natural scenery， long and charming history and stable politics full of vitality． Here， I have witnessed the impact of efficient political leadership on all aspects of life， including fair and perfect legal system， happy people， spontaneous social responsibility， fully guaranteed human rights， portable and efficient mobile payments and effective poverty alleviation．
China’s achievements in technology are obvious and can be called scientific and technological miracles． When I returned to my home country and talked to my friends， I often compared China’s economy with the “QR code” economy． Even developed countries have to admire China’s convenience and efficiency in economic and financial affairs． It is amazing that China’s huge financial system is based on honesty． I still remember the first time I paid with Alipay in a convenience store． I was surprised that the owner didn’t ask if I had paid， so I naively asked my Chinese friend． His answer surprised me， “Why did he bother to think you didn’t pay it？” In China， the whole payment system is “self－driven”； the public’s integrity and social responsibility are the driving force of the whole financial payment system．
A few months after we came to China， something unfortunately happened – the COVID－19 has brought unprecedented challenges to the world． A country’s power and governance ability can only be truly shown in the face of a disaster． As a volunteer in fighting the epidemic， I have personally felt the strength， tenacity and unity of China， people’s trust in the government and people’s compliance with discipline and law． It is because of these virtues that over 1．4 billion Chinese people can unite and take the lead in the global victory against the epidemic， setting an example for the rest of the world．
Study in China has not only played a great role in my personal development， but also prompted me to adopt a healthier lifestyle． When I first came to China， I was on the edge of obesity； but in China， I returned to a healthy shape and even completed the marathon， which is another big bonus． Last fall， some of our friends who are in poor health participated in the Xi’an Marathon； we climbed seven kilometers of mountain road and finally arrived the top， which is 1，000 meters above the sea level． I can never forget that the brave， resolute people we met on the road， even if they felt uncomfortable， they still refused to give up for the team and for this competition．
After completing this race， I felt my mind liberated from all invisible chains； since then my passion for hiking， running， cycling and fitness has been ignited． Driven by this enthusiasm， I hiked to climb mountains and visited many scenic spots in the Qinling Mountains； I participated in many online and offline marathons and won four more marathon medals， which I hung them in my home to decorate my house． Whenever I see these medals， the restless motivation and enthusiasm will fill my heart．
These experiences in China have not only helped me a lot， but also benefited my family， especially my own toddler． Despite some language barriers， he was loved by kindergarten teachers and neighbours． My child plays in parks， amusement parks and gardens with Chinese children； I believe that he must miss China more than I do in the future．
This beautiful journey in China is coming to an end． At this station in life， I’ve witnessed the Chinese people to realize the great ideal of communism in generations， the ideal awakened people in the virtue， inspired them with a positive attitude to life and struggled for the Chinese dream． The overall national strength has been improved thanks to the development of science and technology．
Recently， President Xi Jinping wrote back to overseas students in Peking University showing Chinese government’s concern for us． With the encouragement of President Xi， I will continue to pass on what I saw and heard in China through social media． I also want to extend my heartfelt thanks to my Chinese friends． They have encouraged me by hard working for China’s prosperity； Finally， as a international student， I feel very happy to spend the best two years in my life on this land． I will remember those beautiful memories and Chinese spirit， and never forget my original aspiration on the road to pursue my dream！
